Pastor Eddie Hughes Biography

In 1982, Pastor Eddie Hughes acted on his calling and moved to Parkersburg, WV, founded Living Word Fellowship, and began full-time ministry. During the next four years he also developed and presided over Living Word Bible College, a one-year ministry training course, utilizing up to 20 hours of video taped instruction (per instructor) from well-known and successful ministers and Bible teachers, such as Dr. Waymon Rogers, Dr. C.M. Ward, Dr. Wilfred Reidt, Pastor B.B. Hankins, and more. LWBC also consisted of specialized live teaching from Pastor Hughes, as well as visiting pastors and teachers, such as Mark Hankins, Rod Parsley, Don Hughes, and others.

From 1987 to 1994, the direction of the Lord took Eddie and family to Tampa Florida an then to Charlotte, North Carolina. During those years his work was divided between itinerant preaching, teaching, and radio ministry.

God led him back into full-time pastoral ministry in May of 1994, the Hughes family moved from North Carolina to Charleston, West Virginia to found Kanawha Valley Fellowship. The church grew from Wednesday night meetings in a club house to the building of a new church facility just south of Charleston overlooking US 119 (the name was changed to Redemption Fellowship). One of those who attended the very first service and remained a vital and active member of the church, was ultimately ordained and established as the pastor of the church on June 24, 2001.

During the seven years at Redemption Fellowship, Pastor Eddie’s daily radio program, The Voice of Triumph, grew to cover a ten State area, as well as parts of Africa and Europe via short-wave. Hundreds of letters of testimony in appreciation of the broadcast were received from listeners, as well as many requests for tapes, newsletter articles, and mini-books.

Since June of 2001, Pastor Eddie, Joie, and family have ministered in Tennessee, Ohio, and West Virginia, doing itinerant preaching, radio ministry, and Bible seminars on various topics, including End-times prophecy.
